'It's far too hot to accessorise'

I am extremely distraught at the fact that in a week's time, I will have just two full days living in Seville. This has been such a special year, the part of my life I had been looking forward to for a very long time, I was really terrified when I first came out here, but it has been magnificent, hilarious, messy and eye opening in loads of ways. I will go back to England a ..very sliiiightly different person to the one I was when I left.

If only because I will drink a lot more beer & be a lot less impressed by people cunted off their faces on spirits, wonder why people don't dance until 7am every time they go out, and want to kiss everyone on both cheeks whenever I meet them in the street.

I may have spent lots of time frowning at girls in white mini skirts bobbing listlessly to the Pussycat dolls, shuddering at acne ridden teens with blinding diamantes adorning every possible orifice, and watching all of Peep Show twenty times over, and Sex and the City, in its entirity, in English, but I have also loved so much about life here that is very far from what goes on in Blighty. The french girls have been some of the sweetest, most beautiful, funniest and generally loveliest people I have ever met. I needn't really bother expressing my admiration for the french guys, but I think the phrase 'I just want to climb on top of him and writhe about' sums it up very nicely.

The thought of Oscar might make me do a bit of sick in my mouth now, but at the time it was fun to be with someone who managed to make every single situation hilarious, no matter how dull, and who could make friends with absolutely anyone, within the space of a minute, be it a pija working in El Corte Ingles, to a hippie stoned out of his mind in the Alameda, an obese chinese guy working at the petrol station, or a homeless gypsy woman selling geraniums who smelled like paint. The fact that he stole a photo of me and repeatedly referred to me as 'una puta' for remarking on his brother's impressive muscles, is something I'm just going to gloss over for now..

I'm so lucky to have discovered a lovely, organised-comedy-hating pal in Kate, and an international beauty like Victoria. And met so many excellent people from all over: france, spain, germany, italy, ireland, czech republic, russia, brazil, portugal, america (north & south), denmark and hungary. ALL BLOODY GOOD PLACES IMO. Ok i'm off to cry into my bowl of salmorejo. Sob.
